Mentoring & Speaking

Sometimes the next step begins with a conversation.

I am not trying to build a large speaking or consulting practice. I remain available for selected opportunities when my experience may genuinely be useful. Sometimes that means speaking to a group. At other times, it may be a quiet conversation with a leader, an emerging leader, a family, or a team trying to work through an important question.

01

Speaking & Teaching

I am glad to speak when the subject connects with work I have lived and lessons I believe are worth passing on.

Purpose and calling · Crisis leadership · Helping people grow · Faith in the marketplace
02

Leadership Conversations

Leadership can be lonely, particularly when a decision affects many people or there is no obvious right answer. Sometimes it helps to speak confidentially with someone who has carried significant responsibility and understands the pressures involved.

Difficult decisions · Direction and change · Trust and culture · Leadership transition
03

Mentoring & Coaching

Some of the most important investments in my life came through people who stayed involved long enough to know me, ask difficult questions, and help me recognize what I could not see by myself. I remain particularly interested in emerging leaders and others who want to understand their story, deepen their character, and make wise choices about what comes next.

Purpose and calling · Leader development · Faith and work · Life transition
04

Facilitation

Sometimes a group needs a steady outside presence to help people listen well, name what matters, and move an important conversation forward.

Purpose and direction · Leadership-team alignment · Organizational priorities · Shared understanding

Where my experience may be most useful

People and settings I am especially glad to serve.

These conversations can serve people wherever leadership and influence are exercised—in businesses, public organizations, community groups, churches, families, and one-to-one mentoring relationships.

Emerging and experienced leaders who value character as much as competence

Leadership teams facing change or a difficult decision

Families who want to put shared convictions into words and practice

People considering what purpose and legacy mean at this point in their lives

Organizations and communities investing in people and purpose

Notes from Jerry

From time to time, I share a brief reflection on leadership, purpose, character, faith, and questions I am still considering. If you would like to receive these messages, you may join the email list here. I will write only when I have something I believe is worth passing on.
